Culture for Cancer this Sunday in Bradenton

On October 23 from 1-5pm, Mindy Lederman, local Bradenton artist and entrepreneur, will be living out her dream while at the same time raising money to help battle her ovarian cancer with her debut Gallery-Exhibition of Art through Mindy’s Eyes.

Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer. Its symptoms often do not arise until the disease has spread to the point that the odds of surviving are very low. Unfortunately Mindy has the rarest form of cancer-the kind that does not respond to chemotherapy.

That does not stop Mindy from doing what brings her joy. “Art keeps popping out of me,” she enthusiastically describes it. You’d never know she just had 28 treatments of radiation and various surgeries. Her friends say she has a great attitude and zest for life.

She has been painting for over 20 years and her collection is eclectic and thought provoking. The work is a huge part of her healing and showing her work all together as a fund raiser is bitter sweet.

Although Mindy is an artist she is most known in the community as co-owner of TimeOut Massage. No doubt all her friends in the community will be at the opening Gallery to support her. It is open to the public and a great way to experience culture, have an opportunity to buy original pieces, prints and to partake in a silent auction.  Mindy will be at the Gallery to share about her Cancer Journey and all about her art life.

For more information go to www.muttiart.com

Art Gallery will be hosted by her brother at
